Events

The Men’s Garden Club of Asheville has monthly general meetings beginning at 11:30 on the first Tuesday of each month.  The meetings are open to the public and includes a lunch (with reservation), reports of interest to the general membership from directors, and a speaker on a horticultural topic. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings are held at the First Baptist Church, on South Oak Street in Asheville.

Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at the Botanical Center on W.T. Boulevard, Asheville.

The program is entitled "Wildflowers and Plant Communities of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, presented by Botanist Tim Spira. He is a plant ecologist and professor of botany at Clemson University. Tim has a Ph.D. degree in Botany from the University of California, and is the author of many papers in scientific journals. He is the author of an award winning book, "Wildflowers and Plant Communities of the Southern Appalachian Mountains and Piedmont: A Naturalist's Guide to the Carolinas, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia.

The public is welcome to attend. Social gathering is at 11:30. If you wish to join for lunch, call 329-8577 by May 30.
