The Men’s Garden Club of Asheville has monthly general meetings beginning at 11:30 on the first Tuesday of each month.  The meetings are open to the public and includes a lunch (with reservation), reports of interest to the general membership from directors, and a speaker on a horticultural topic. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings are held at the First Baptist Church, on South Oak Street in Asheville.

Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at the Botanical Center on W.T. Boulevard, Asheville.

The speaker for the September meeting is Bill Jones, founder and President of Carolina Native Nursery, L.L.C.  Carolina Native grows containerized and B&B native ornamental perennials, shrubs and trees.  The nursery specializes in growing native azaleas and rhododendrons from seed, and propagates over 100 other native plants on site.  The plants and materials from Carolina Native are distributed throughout the country.  The speaker has served on numerous boards and commissions throughout his career and is currently serving on the Asheville Civic Center Commission.

The luncheon begins at 12:00 with a short social gathering before the meal. The program will begin about 12:30.   The public is invited, however, if lunch is desired a reservation is necessary by calling  #683-1673.

Plants from the Men's Garden Club will be offered for sale on this date.  Proceeds are used to support scholarships for horticulture students at area Community Colleges.

The fall plant sale of the Men's Garden Club is on this date at the Botanical Center of Asheville on Weaver Boulevard.  The sale will consist primarily of perennials.  Proceeds of the sales are used to support scholarships given to deserving horticultural students at community colleges.
